RBC Wealth Management Asia has named Daniel Soo as its new Managing Director and Head of Private Banking in Singapore, overseeing the firm’s strategy for expanding its client base and deepening ties in key Asian markets. Soo, who joined RBC in 2024 as market head, brings over 30 years of experience in wealth management, including senior roles at UBS, Credit Suisse, and Standard Chartered Private Bank. Since arriving, he has led recruitment for the Singapore private banking team and helped shape RBC’s regional growth plan.
The appointment aligns with RBC’s push to strengthen its presence in Asia’s private banking sector. Soo’s focus will include scaling operations in Singapore while building relationships across Greater China and Southeast Asia. His background in cross-border wealth advisory gives him the expertise to handle the region’s complex regulatory and client demands.
Soo’s arrival follows a broader wave of hires in Singapore and Hong Kong. In Singapore, Patrick Foo joins as executive director and team lead, bringing 25 years of experience from Citibank, UBS, and Standard Chartered Bank, with a focus on clients in Greater China. Jason Yuan, also an executive director, has 20 years in relationship management across Southeast Asia and Greater China, with stints at CTBC Bank Singapore, Bank Julius Baer, and UOB Private Bank. Sam Polson, another executive director, specializes in serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals and global family offices in APAC, most recently at Barclays Private Bank.
Audrey Neo, appointed as director, has 15 years in wealth management, including roles at CTBC Bank Singapore, Bank J. Safra Sarasin, and Citi Private Bank. Louisa Wen, joining as associate director, transitions from Citibank’s investment banking platform in Singapore, with prior experience in finance, real estate, and luxury sectors. In Hong Kong, Jackson Huang takes on the director role, offering 25 years in private wealth, particularly in Greater China UHNW coverage and family office advisory. He previously worked at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, DBS Private Bank, and Goldman Sachs. Malcolm Chai, an associate director, brings 10 years in wealth management across Asia, with experience at UBS Hong Kong, Julius Baer, and OCBC Bank.
